CLEAN AND CARE GUIDE

Maintaining your wooden cutting board's cleanliness and quality is easy with these steps. It's essential for home cooks and chefs alike, offering both functionality and a natural touch to your kitchen.

Follow these instructions for hygiene and care:

Gentle Cleanse: After each use, hand wash with mild, soapy water using a soft sponge to prevent scratches. Make sure to always wash both sides, even if you only used one, to ensure even water absorption to prevent warping. Stand the board up on its side to allow the board to air dry evenly.

Effective Sanitize: Use a mixture of 1 tbsp white vinegar and 1 cup water to sanitize. Apply, wait, then wipe with a cloth.

Tough Stains/Odors: For stubborn issues, use baking soda. Rub gently with a damp cloth, rinse, and dry.

Oiling your board: Frequent applications of food-grade mineral oil or beeswax every three weeks are essential for maintaining the well-being and durability of your board. Neglecting to oil it can lead to undesirable problems such as warping, cracking, and the proliferation of bacteria.

How to Oil Your Wood Cutting Board with Mineral Oil

To ensure the longevity of your teak cutting board, it is recommended to apply a food-safe mineral oil at least once a month.

What You Need: A clean, dry cloth or disposable towel and food-grade mineral oil (or beeswax).

Step 1. Apply the food-safe mineral oil to your cutting board using a clean, dry cloth. Spread the oil evenly over the entire surface, including edges and grooves, adding more as necessary. Flip the board over and repeat on the other side for complete coverage.

Step 2. Leave the oil to absorb into the board for overnight or at least several hours.

Step 3. Wipe away any excess oil using a dry, clean dish towel until the board does not feel greasy.

To keep your cutting board in excellent condition and prevent cracking and warping, we highly recommend oiling it at least once a month. This practice not only helps to restore the natural richness of the wood but also prevents the growth of bacteria that can thrive in a moist environment.

The Benefits of Oiling:

Moisture Protection: Oiling forms a protective barrier against unwanted moisture, preventing the growth of bacteria.

Prevents Drying: Regular oiling prevents the wood from drying out, which could otherwise cause warping and cracks.

Restores Natural Colors: Oiling enhances and revives the natural, rich hues of the wood. Remember, a well-oiled cutting board not only preserves its beauty but also ensures its durability and hygiene over time.
