CARE 

Q: Dishwasher safe? 

No dishwashers, please! Hand wash only with soapy water. Wipe down the board and let it dry thoroughly, standing it on an edge so that both sides are facing out.

 

Q: Pre-finished boards? 

Yes, all boards are pre-finished. No immediate oiling needed. A light soap wash suffices. Oil within a week for extra care. Regular oiling is essential. 

 

Q: Why oil the board? 

Regular oiling keeps your board healthy and durable. It prevents moisture buildup, bacterial growth, and cracking. 

 

Q: Oil frequency? 

Use dictates oiling frequency. Regular chef? Every two weeks. Occasional cook? Oil every 3 weeks or when dry. 

 

Q: Best oil type? 

Use food-grade mineral oil or food-grade beeswax. 

  

Q: Hot pots on the board? 

Avoid placing hot pots and pans on the board. Use trivets to prevent burn marks.

 

Q: Removing odors and stains? 

Scrub with salt and lemon. Salt lifts stains and bacteria, while lemon adds a fresh scent. 

 

Q: How to store the board? 

Ideal: displayed on a countertop for air drying. If not possible, ensure the board is fully dried before storing in a cabinet or pantry.

Q: Knife marks on my board – normal? 

Absolutely! Knife marks indicate a good match with your knife's blade. Wood boards safeguard both knife and surface. Regular food-grade mineral oil application blends marks into the wood's natural grain. 

 

Q: Will my board look exactly like the photos? 

Each board's unique grain and color, courtesy of Mother Nature, ensures it won't be identical to the photos. It's a one-of-a-kind creation! 

 

Q: Custom designs and sizes available? 

Unfortunately, we're not offering custom designs and sizes currently. 

  

Q: Serrated knife on wood board? 

Best to avoid! Serrated knives can scar and splinter wood boards. Opt for straight-edge blades for extended board life. 

 

Q: Custom engraving offered? 

While we don't offer custom engraving, you can personalize your board locally for full creative control. 

 

Q: Edge grain vs. end grain? 

Edge grain: horizontal wood fibers, durable, resists stains, and moisture. End grain: vertical wood fibers, showcases rings and grains, gentle on knives. 

 

Q: Why choose wood over plastic? 

Wood trumps plastic: eco-friendly, durable, resists bacteria. A cleaner Earth, cleaner board, and cleaner you!

Absolutely! We take responsibility for quality. Defects within a year of purchase qualify for hassle-free board replacement.
